Bin Laden’s neighbor told about his elimination on Twitter

IT - specialist Sohaib Athar, living next to the declassified residence of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, without knowing covered the al-Qaeda leader’s elimination operation through his microblog on Twitter. At about 1 am Athar noticed a helicopter, loitering over the city. The blogger noted that а helicopter’s appearance in the area is quite rare. He also expressed the opinion, that the object makes too much noise for a spy helicopter: “Go away helicopter, before I take out my giant swatter”,- wrote the blogger, complaining about the noise.

Then he heard a huge explosion,

some other users of Twitter also reported about it. After the first helicopter, which, according to the blogger’s observations, was shot down, there were two other ones. Athar noted, that “his giant swatter” worked and said that he had batter “hide it”, before the second group of helicopters does not take vengeance for the drop of the first one.

In a couple of hours, it became clear, that the helicopters over Abbottabad belonged neither to Pakistan Air Force, nor to “Taliban” movement, and the Pakistani authorities denied the version of terrorist attack. Here Athar described the situation as “confusing”, and apologized for his tweets about the “swatter” to the pilot of the first helicopter, who died, according to media. At the same time, there were rumors that possibly it wasn’t a helicopter that had been downed, but an unmanned drone.

By the morning the place of the explosion was surrounded by soldiers, and the bloggers suspected that the incident in Abbottabad was connected with US president Barack Obama’s special address announced at 10:30 am. When it was officially announced about bin Landen’s elimination, Sohaib Athar wrote:”Oh, it turns out that I was transmitting on my blog the operation of Osama’s elimination, without knowing”. He also reported about numerous appeals from the media.

The head of the terrorist organization “Al-Qaeda” was killed on the night of May 2, 2011 (in the evening of May 1 in USA time zone) in Abbottabad in a special operation of the American troops. It was officially announced by the president Obama in his Sunday address to the nation. Bin Laden died in a shoot-out, one of the eldest sons of the “number one terrorist” was shot together with him. The Special Forces stormed bin Laden’s residence with support from the air, and these were the sounds that attracted the attention of the citizens.
