Now Facebook Users Can Tag Pages in Photos

There is a new function in Facebook photo albums, which allows to tag in photos products of certain companies and brands, as well as celebrities or the media. The official blog of the social network Inside Facebook informs about it.

Facebook accounts will be able to show liking for certain products, recommending them to their friends. If the user has many friends in the social network, with the help of this function he/she will be able draw attention to the official website of the brand and increase its traffic.

Pages will be tagged just as photos were tagged previously - once the user tags a product or a person in a photo, the link of the corresponding page will appear under the photo.

Previously only friends could be tagged in a photo. Photos with this kind of tags are possible to hide from other users by changing privacy settings.

The action will not appear in the news, which is placed on the wall of a user and tapes of his friends. Pages can be tagged only by the users themselves. This will prevent the abuse of the new feature by companies for self-promotion.
