Facebook Launches “Send” Button

The social network Facebook launched “Send” button, reported TechCrunch on Monday, April 25.

For the

present only 50 popular sites have “Send” button, including the site of The Washington Post, for example. With the help of this button the users of the social network will be able to send a page’s link to any of their Facebook Groups, their Facebook friends, or any standard email address.

A year ago Facebook launched “Like” button, which also allows the users to share links, without entering their Facebook account. A link shared with the help of “Like” button automatically becomes available for all the “friends” of the user, while “Send” button is designed to share information with a subset of them.

In addition to “Send” button Facebook is adding some features to its existing Groups product. One of them is the integration with “Questions”, which re-launched last month. Now the user can pose a question contained within the group.

Besides, from now on only the administrator can approve any new member, who have been invited to join the group. Previously anyone within a Facebook group was able to invite any of their friends, who automatically became its members. According to Facebook managers, at the moment there are 50 million groups registered on Facebook and most of them are active.
